emphas!s design created the branding for the DUMBO Improvement District in Brooklyn. DUMBO (whose name is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) was a neighborhood in transformation. Originally a gritty industrial district, it was now a community of families, galleries, and tech start-ups. The identity reflects the Belgian block, streets, the colors of the waterfront parks, and the contemporary vibe of the neighborhood. emphasis designed a variety of print material, including booklets, brochures, annual reports, posters, and signage to promote small businesses and cultural events. In addition, emphasis created engaging materials to garner community and stakeholder support for the DID advocacy on infrastructure, road, and transportation improvements for the neighborhood.
